Here are some pics of the baby at almost 12 weeks (11 weeks 6 days).
It was so fun to see the little guy/gal wiggle around. The kid even waved at us! Maybe it was just moving it's arm around, but I'm pretty sure it was waving to Eli as he was watching the ultrasound. I can't believe this kid is moving around inside of me and I still don't feel anything yet. Crazy and amazing!
And here is me at 11 weeks. This is not a great picture, and I'm wearing a loose shirt so you can't really see anything. But that's kind of the point, there's not much to see...yet.
I'm going to try to take a picture every 10 weeks so we can see the baby bump grow. Good times. I also found out that I have a higher than normal thyroid level. Good news: it keeps my metabolism high and means my kids are more likely to have a higher IQ. Bad news: it means I will probably be sick the entire 9 months...just like I was with Eli. It's nice to have an explanation to why I'm sick the whole time, but it doesn't change the fact that I will be sick the while time. Yay! Just 6 more months...just 6 more months...

Scripture Time!
Elijah was in our guest room today and he was talking a lot more than usual. I peeked in and this is what I found:
He found my old Seminary scriptures and was sitting on the floor "reading" them out loud to himself. Maybe our nightly family scripture reading is having an impact after all.

When's That BA-BY Due?
I love Brian Regan's jokes. They are just so funny. I also love my family. And I love that we are going to be adding a new addition to our family! Yes! I'm pregnant, and I'm going to have a baby too! (That quote is from Satruday's Warrior.) We are just thrilled to be having another baby.
Eli is getting excited, too. He likes to kiss my tummy already and say "baby, baby". The other day he even put his Pooh Bear--his favorite snuggly that he carries everywhere--up to my tummy so the baby could snuggle with him. Adorable!
Eli is going to be a wonderful big brother. We're already calling this one little brother becuase if you say it enough it must be true, right? So, little baby, if you end up being a girl, sorry for this, but know we love you too! I'm due on September 3rd and am not looking forward to being pregnant all summer. But really, I'm just happy I'm pregnant, even if I do camp out at the pool looking like a beached whale all summer.
I've been really, really sick so far. Sick enough to get put on some medicine to help me be able to eat. Now instead of throwing up everything I eat, I just throw up maybe once a day. I've even started counting time in puke-free days. So far I've made it to three. That was last weekend. This week hasn't been so good. But I can handle 9 months of this for the precious little baby I get at the end of it! So little kidney bean, just do what you need to keep growing and we will meet you soon!

Christmas
So, yeah, that happened...over a month ago. I may be just a bit behind in this whole blogging thing. But we did have a fantastic Christmas.
Eli loved seeing all the Christmas lights around the neighborhood. I love that we live in only-barely-cold-in-the-winter Arizona so I could take him on walks at night to look at the lights in our neighborhood. He would "Ohh" and "Ahh" at every house. And our neighborhood does a wonderful job of putting up some festive and beautiful displays. Unfortunately we didn't get any outside lights up, but we did have our Christmas tree shinning brightly in our front window. That counts, right?
Eli's love of the Christmas lights got me really excited for Christmas. I already love this time of year, and I loved it even more with my little tot to share in the experience. He had a good time "helping" Daddy set up the tree, and even more fun helping me (un)decorate it every day. He did a great job with the ornaments, and while he liked to take them off the tree, he never threw them until the day I was packing everything up. Then he ran around the house throwing them like bouncy balls...wonderful little boy.
We got to take Eli to the temple lights this year. We went with Gma and Gpa Cox. Again, another fun evening watching Eli run around as he got so excited to see all the lights. He LOVED them!
Christmas was quiet and fun at our house. Thankfully Eli still sleeps in and doesn't quite know about the whole "wake the parents up early" part of Christmas. We actually got up and got ready before we brought him out to open presents. He got some new cars in his stocking and he was set--not even interesting in any of the other presents. Why would he be when he had two new cars to play with?
We did manage to get him focused enough to open a few more presents...the big one being a race track. And to our relief he loves it! He still hates the remote control car I got him last Christmas, so I wasn't so sure how the race track would go over. But as soon as he saw the box he new it was about cars and he wanted to play with it.
Mike opened it and set it up right there, and Eli knew exactly what to do. He was driving his cars on pieces of the track before Mike even had a chance to unwrap everything. Awesome.
I may have gone a little overboard with Eli's Christmas, or he was just so distracted and excited about the toys he got, that we didn't even give him all the toys. We ended up setting a few aside and will give them to him for his birthday. Sure makes birthday shopping easy! :)
Mike also surprised me with a Wii! Well, it's for me and Eli, but I'm the one who's been secretly dropping hints (non-stop talking) about one since I played Super Mario Bros at Julie's house. That game reminds me of childhood and I love having the Wii!
Mike made a delicious Christmas feast that evening and we had some family over to enjoy it. Mel and Hailee especially liked playing the Wii. And the food, as always, was incredible.
We also managed to squeeze in some family time around the holidays. Julie came down early for Christmas with my parents, and I got to pick her and baby up from the airport and take them up to surprise my mom for a few days. It was really fun to FINALLY meet my little, adorable nephew, and spend some time with Jules and my parents. Eli loved the baby. He loves all babies, as long as I'm not holding them. As soon as I picked up Jude Eli would get very territorial and suddenly want me to hold him--or at least put the baby down. He is still very much a momma's boy.
The Wednesday after Christmas we took a day trip up to Payson, which was a winter wonderland! We drove up in the middle of a snow storm, which made me a little nervous, but we traveled safely and enjoyed the foot or more of snow they had. Eli got to go sledding for the first time. I sat on the sled with him while Mike pulled us around. He enjoyed up, but was not so sure about the cold stuff that kept hitting him in the face--it was snowing while we were out and playing. We did get some cute pictures of him playing barefoot in the snow later, though. Yep, we're good parents like that.
It truly was the most wonderful time of the year. I am so grateful for all that we have and for the Christmas season to remember the one gift that truly matters--the life and sacrifice of our Savior.

Tiny Tops
What does it mean when your 21-month-old son can fit your glasses?
Well, first it means he's incredibly adorable. It also means I might have a small head. Eli's head is just smaller than average for his age. So what's that saying about my head?
Eli snatched these off my desk and ran away before I could grab him. He ran over to Mike while trying to put them on his head, so, naturally, Mike helped him. I hope he never needs glasses, but if he does he'll sure be adorable in them.
Thanksgiving and Throw up
We went up to Chino Valley for Thanksgiving. I always love going to my parent's house, especially when a lot of family is around. And there was plenty of family. Eli got to play with tons of cousins and eat tons of food, and unfortunately we did not take tons of pictures. We didn't take any pictures...opps! But the day was wonderful, the food was delicious, and the family is always fun to be around. Eli even got to see a bunch of animals--that's the beauty of where my parents live. We went with some of his cousins to a neighbor's house who had a bunch of kids...er...baby goats. They were adorable and all the kids (baby humans) loved playing with the kids (baby goats). There were some mommy goats there too, and they all just wanted some attention. It was a fun-filled day.
The only real surprise of the day was finding out that Eli gets carsick. Oh yeah. On the drive up, just as we were coming out of the windy Black Canyon, Eli turned into Mt. St. Helens, and it was not pretty. Thankfully I had some extra clothes, and he was such a trooper through it all. And to be even more grateful (it was Thanksgiving after all) he didn't throw up on the way home! Yay!

Halloween
I know it's December and I'm a bit behind, but here's our Halloween update. I'm not a big Halloween person--it's just not a holiday I get all excited about. This means I don't really care about dressing up and don't want to spend a lot of money on Eli when he doesn't know what's going on. Okay, maybe I'm a bit of a Scrooge here, but that's a different holiday.
Anyway, we did still celebrate and Eli did get to dress up. We had this Chargers jersey for him, and I just added a little eye black (mascara) under his eyes. Give him a football to play with and viola! we have a football player. He was actually pretty darn cute. We went to our ward Trunk-or-Treat party on Saturday night. Eli had a blast running around with his cousins, but he wasn't so sure about all these adults that wanted to talk to him and give him things. Once we got home and he discovered it was candy he was elated!
On Halloween we just stayed home and passed out candy. Eli had fun seeing the kids come over, and he especially loved when people had dogs too.
