Season's Greetings!

I love the whole Christmas season. The cold weather. The delicious food. The wonderful songs. The cheesy movies. The delicious food. The hot chocolate. Did I mention the food? Right. The month of December always gets busy. Here are some of the fun things we did.

We went up to Prescott for Acker night. It's a musical night they have around the town square. I just love the small-town charm of Prescott and Chino Valley. Mike came up for the night but had to head back home. The boys and I got to sleep over at Grandma's for a few days. It ended up being a COLD weekend, and a freezing night for us all. But it was a lot of fun. 

Don't let his look deceive you. He's not mad about the cold. He's mad he's not out playing in the snow. We made him come inside to warm up.

Eli loved the snow! On our last night there I was telling him we were going home to see Daddy tomorrow. He said, "No. I have to stay at Papa's house for ever and ever and ever. I need snow."

LJ's kids came over to play with Eli, and he had a blast. Gabe and Zech were so nice and let Eli follow them around and play.

Ryleigh was so helpful. She stayed and helped Eli do his before she even started on hers. So sweet!

Potty Trained!

Eli is potty trained!

Well, not entirely...but almost! We've been sort of *working* on this forever by using pull-ups and trying to take him to the potty (and hoping he would tell me when he needs to go). Mostly it just turned into a big fight for him. So I just decided to go cold-turkey. We let Eli run around nekkid for a couple days and setting a potty timer every hour and voila! He uses the potty now and keeps his undies dry. Going #2 is a completely different story, and we're going to be working on that one for a looooooong time. But I am so happy to cut way down on the diaper changes during the day. And Eli has been so proud of himself for being a big boy. He got to go to the store and pick out new underwear--Thomas the Train. He's already got Lightning underwear (Cars underwear) and he loves being able to pick what he gets to wear each day. And, yes, I'm sure this post/page in the family album is totally going to embarrass him when he is sixteen. I love being a mom!

Isaac Turns 2 Months!

Since Isaac is now over 3 months old, I thought I should at least put up his 2 month stats before his 4 month visit in January.

Here are Isaac's 2 month stats:

Head: 15"
Weight: 11 lb 4 oz
Height: 22 1/4"

He is the sweetest, happiest baby alive! We are so blessed to have such a happy baby in our lives. He loves to smile and laugh and giggle and coo. I like to call him my jolly little elf...he really is JOLLY! He loves Eli and gets the biggest smiles when Big Brother comes around. I think he watches in awe as Eli plays with Mike, and I know Isaac can't wait to be mobile and right there wrestling with them. He also loves to sleep on his tummy. It scared me at first, but I've come to accept that he is a tummy sleeper. He is also an excellent sleeper and all around a happy, fun, adorable baby!

Happy 2 months Isaac! Let me put my finger in your nose.

One of the funnest parts of having a baby and a two year old is hearing the things I say repeated in Eli's sweet little voice. One of my favorites is hearing Eli say to Isaac, "Oh Sweetheart! Aren't you a Sweetheart? Aren't you a cutie?" Or when Isaac's fussy he says, "Oh Sweetheart! It's okay! Mommy's here. Mommy's got you, Sweetheart. You're okay, Sweetheart." There is just something magical about hearing my son talk to his brother that way, then seeing Isaac's face light up when he looks at Eli. Makes my heart melt!
