Octoberfun!

I've been slacking in the whole blogging aspect lately, so these posts are going to be lots of pics with a few explanations. In October we went to the pumpkin patch with Mel and her girls. Eli LOVED it (like it's now December and he still asks to go back almost every day).

Me and the boys. Mike was working.

Heading into the corn maze. See how happy we are?

We got stuck in the back of the maze in a sudden down pour of rain. He we are hiding in the corn huddled under Isaac's baby blanket.

Isaac was such a trooper. He was happy to snuggle in the carrier and sleep the WHOLE time. We're talking a couple hours. This was also on his 2 month birthday (and he had shots earlier that day)! We are spoiled by how good he is!

The barrel train. Eli was leery of riding by himself, but he loves trains, so we went for it.

The cousins. Eli loves these girls!

Aunt Melanie helped a ton by playing with the kids in all the activities. I didn't think Isaac would appreciate the bouncing, so I took the pics. :)

The giant bubble/trampoline thing. It was pretty cool.

Then the boys and I took a quick trip up to my parent's home in Chino Valley to see Aunt Julie and her family and see my niece Bonita (who I didn't get a picture of, bummer!).

Baby Jude is a bucket full of cuteness!

Then we had some fun Halloween celebrations. It's fun to have Eli at the age where he can get excited about holidays. We went to our ward's Trunk-or-Treat on Saturday before Halloween.

Eli went trick-or-treating with Claire.

He's still kind of shy and had a death grip on my hand most of the time, but did get excited when he realized his pumpkin was getting filled with candy.

Daddy and his skeleton army. I have to be honest, these are actually skeleton PJs, not costumes!

I love my little monsters!

We did actually buy Eli a costume, but he refused to wear it. He doesn't even know who Spider-Man is yet, and he does love those skeleton PJs...they glow in the dark.
Then we went out with Mel's girls on Halloween night. I love the AZ weather and not having to worry about keeping my boys warm in their PJs costumes. It was almost too hot that night! Eli loved going around with Hailee and Claire, although he stood about 5 feet away from the door every time they went up. The people would have to come out to give him candy. Guess I don't need to teach him about stranger danger. The kid got a TON of candy. Seriously. We only went up and down Mel's street and the next street, and his pumpkin had over 2 lbs of candy in it! It was so heavy at the end that he had me carry it between houses!
Ready for some real trick-or-treating on Halloween night!

We went to Mel's street and Eli got to trick-or-treat with his cousins.

Eli and I carved a pumpkin together while Daddy played with Isaac.
I'm pretty impressed with our work!

Diaper Changes

Eli loves to watch me change Isaac's diaper. While I'm putting some Desitin on Isaac's bum Eli asks,

"Mom, why does Baby Isaac want sour cream on his bum?"

It was both disgusting and hilarious!

My Boys

When people found out I was having another boy, they'd often remark, "Oh well, hopefully next time you'll get a girl." While I am just happy to have healthy babies, no matter what gender they are, I'm really not sad to be surrounded by these boys. How can I not love them?!

My boys
Now that Isaac is here, Eli feels left out at night becuase he doesn't get to sleep in Mommy's room too. So he's been having a hard time going to bed at night, and usually ends up in our bed anyways. We put him to bed and hear him play, and after a while he calls for us and says, "Mine can't sleep in my bed. Mine want to stay up with Daddy." I love the way he talks right now!
Staying up with Daddy.

Napping

Tummy Time!
Eli loves to pretend he is going to work. He puts something of Mike's on, like his shoes, then gives us all kisses goodbye and runs to the garage door. Then he comes running back saying "I'm home!" and we all get kisses again.
"Going to work."

Eli and Isaac watching Shrek. The first time for either of them.

Eli helping Daddy fix my car. See him holding the flashlight?

Snuggles with Daddy. Isaac at 5 weeks.

Snuggles with Daddy. Eli at 2 1/2 years.

My "tan" baby. In the words of Eli, "He's so cute."

Love them!

Kisses. Or as Eli says, "Isaac's eating my mouth!"

Brotherly Love

Trouble

It's no mistake that we call Elijah "Eli Monkey". He loves to climb:

In the sink . . .

In the baby swing . . .

Onto the changing table . . .
This last one was unexpected. I had left Isaac on the changing table for a second to go throw the diaper away, and came back to find Eli up there with him. When I walked into the room, Eli threw his hands in the air and yelled, "Suprise!". And was I ever!

He also loves to climb onto the computer desk, up on chairs, over the back of the couch, and all over Daddy.

Watch Out, He Spits!

Isaac is five weeks old now and, yes, he spits . . . a lot! It's been so fun to see the differences between him and Elijah, even in just five weeks of life. It is hard to believe Isaac has only been around for five weeks; it seems like he's always been a part of our family. I remember feeling that way with Elijah too--like I can't remember what life was like without these boys. They seem to have always been a part of my life, and I love it!
One Month!

Isaac is a fabulous baby. He does spit up a lot, though. That's been an interesting adventure. I now know to always have a burp rag with him, no matter how long ago he ate. He's still a bit of a momma's boy. Mostly I think he likes to snuggle, and his mommy is good at snuggling! He's down to eating every three hours at night--no long stretches of sleep for me--but he is very consistent. I can't remember if it was like this with Eli, or if I'm just more in tune with kid's schedules now that I've already had one, but Isaac and I have his nighttime schedule down pat. He eats at 10pm, 2am, 5am, and 8am--and if he gets to bed a little bit later than 10pm (because mom is busy staying up with big brother . . . who still insists on sleeping in our bed) then everything gets shifted, but the spacing stays the same.
Biiiiiiiiiig Yawn

One of the first things people notice about Isaac is his dark complexion. I swear, EVERY PERSON who has seen Isaac for the first time says 1. how cute he is, and then their second comment is always a remark about his dark complexion. Usually they look at me, and at Eli if he is there, and then ask where Isaac gets his dark complexion from. I've even had a couple people ask if I take a lot of walks and tan him. No, I do not take my five-week-old tanning. He just has beautiful olive skin. And he clearly did not get it from me. Talk to his Daddy.

This little five-week-old is also super strong. I think he's beefing up so he can start playing with Eli and Daddy. He's been able to hold his head up for a few seconds since birth, but now he does it all the time. If I'm burping him, his head is almost never resting on my shoulder, but is lifted up and looking around. He loves to arch back and look at the fan on the ceiling, and he always seems in awe of it being there. It's adorable. He's also getting long, strong legs, and now tries to stand on my lap when I'm burping him as well. And he's working on sit-ups as well. He often ends up sideways in his swing because he picks up his head and torso in a baby sit-up, and then falls sideways. Yes, he really is only five weeks old.

He's got attitude already.

Isaac loves his baths, but hates the cold few seconds afterward when he's naked and wet, before I can get him dressed. He loves binkies, or anything he can suck on, and is working really hard on becoming a thumb sucker. So far he goes after his little balled up fists and sometimes finds his fingers. It's pretty cute. Eli loves to give Isaac his binky, but often the binky ends up in Eli's mouth, too.
Four Weeks Old

We've had a fun five weeks so far; we even managed to have an impromptu celebration for Isaac's one-month birthday! Gma and Gpa Cox came into town for car shopping on that day, and they ended up coming to our house for dinner. Mel and David came over with their girls, and I had already been making cookies, so we all hung out and celebrated the day!
